THE  LEARNING CURVE

One of the things that I learned and was completely thankful for, was the importance of digital storytelling (also known as the art of digital humanities). I was taught by one of the members of the group how to take breathtaking photos and to capture the candid moments of life through the lens of tools at my disposal. This project is dedicated to Maryan Hassan and Dr. Bryan Carter. I owe it to them for inspiring me to adopt a new hobby and interest in photography and video. I wanted to take a moment to capture the beauty of the people on this trip and capture them in a flattering lens that truly brings light to the power of perspective. I think that representation is key in improving self-esteem and confidence. With that in mind, I wanted to use my resources to produce representations of African Americans in their most beautiful form.
